This is the second book I've read in this series and they've both had the same theme: amidst the beauty of Greece, a younger, non-British, man teaches an older British woman how to relax and really appreciate life. It's hard to imagine these books having a very wide appeal beyond white women in their 50s who wish a younger man would rescue them from their stressful life.The pace is very slow. I know the author was trying to convey the different pace of life in the Greek islands, but it almost made me feel like putting the book down and starting something else. Too many of the side characters come across as the same person, just a generic "Greek" type. There appear to be pages missing in the Kindle edition. Some examples: 1. There is a gap in the event sequence after Dino's belt falls into the sea and a "makeshift stretcher cuts into her [Michelle's] hips". How did Michelle get into a makeshift stretcher? 2. Dino says he's going to get a handcart and Michelle cries that she isn't not going in a handcart, but Dino is already gone. In the next paragraph Dino is telling Michelle to "stay awake" and the ride in the handcart is described as bumpy and uncomfortable; while she is thinking she must catch the boat tomorrow. BOOM! The next sentence Michelle is (in the hospital on the phone) telling Juliet how amazing Dino was. I am struggling to continue reading...
